Driftwood Counseling & Consultation

EMDR therapy

A structured, approachable path for processing difficult experiences.

EMDR is one of Kylie’s specialties. It’s a guided, structured way to work through experiences that keep showing up in the present, at a pace that respects you.

What EMDR is

EMDR is a structured therapy approach used to support the processing of distressing experiences. Kylie is happy to walk you through how it works, in plain language, during a consultation.

Why consider it

Someone may explore EMDR when past experiences continue to affect the present. Whether it fits depends on individual needs, goals, and readiness.

What sessions may look like

Sessions include preparation, clear guidance, and attention to your pace. The exact process is personalized and discussed before beginning.

Virtual therapy for clients in Washington and North Carolina.

EMDR & military trauma

Understanding the world you come from.

Kylie has a particular passion for trauma work with service members and veterans. As a retired Army officer, she understands the culture, language, relationships, and experiences that can be hard to explain to someone outside that world.

She has used EMDR extensively with this population, and that shared understanding means less time translating and more time doing the work. EMDR at Driftwood isn’t only for military clients — it’s available to anyone for whom it’s a good fit, and it comes without promises of specific results.
